Game of the Week for Saturday 10/25/14;
#3 DFW Ravens vs. #2 DC Broncos........
I know that it is late on a Friday afternoon and I am just now getting this out. Let me apologize for my tardiness! I have been out of town on business and I have been updating the site as I had time. So, without further ado......This weeks game of the week is finally going to be in the "Seniors" division. The first 2 weeks showcased games in the "Juniors" division and they turned out to be great games. As a matter of fact the only "Pick" I have missed came from last weeks "Game of the Week". So yes these games are big and very close match-ups, and I do not see this week being any different.....
This week we have the #2 overall team facing the #3 overall team and both come into this game with undefeated titles. Well as it has been so many times before, Someone's "0" has to go!!!!!!!!! Who will it be? Who will be coming down on our "Power Rankings"? I have an idea, but you will have to read about it in our "Game Picks" to find out who we are looking at and why.
Now with all of that being said this game is going to be a really good game and should be decided by who makes the least mistakes. I know that is an old football saying that has probably been used up. However, I think in this game it really does mean exactly that. We have the leagues #2 & #3 defense playing in the same game tomorrow and both have allowed less than 1 touchdown per game this season. So I think it will be that kind of game. Which offense makes the fewest mistakes, and which offense can force the other defense to make a mistake.
On a final note let me be clear both of these offenses are scoring machines and can put up really big numbers fast so the defenses have to come to play!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck to Both Teams, and Everyone Remember to stay safe and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Game of the Week Conclusion for Week of 10/25/14;
This game was a battle of unbeaten's coming in for Playoff superiority. Only one could leave with a completed undefeated season, and go rolling into the playoffs on a big win! What a great game to be played as the last game of the regular season. What a way for one of these 2 teams to spring board right into the playoffs! And, while our pick in this game was off we were absolutely correct in our "Prediction" of how this game would go! It was an absolute fight to the finish and could not have been any better. We normally give you a break down of the game, but we just do not feel that would do either team any justice because of the type of game that it was. Let's just say that we hope to see these 2 teams play each other again because to be just totally honest this game is what football is supposed to be every game every time! So thank you to both teams and coaching staffs for the enjoyment of watching football at a very high level! Congrats to you both and good luck as you go into the playoffs. Remember....... We are watching!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game of the Week for Saturday 10/18/14;
This weeks game of the week is being played in the "Juniors" division of the NTYFA. This week we have the #1 Overall Ranked TCU Wildcats coming in with a 6-0 record taking on the #3 Overall Ranked Blue Raider Panthers. Once again, Youth Sports USA has found a game that has two really solid teams. It is one that was very hard for me to pick. As a matter of fact, it is so difficult I have not posted the pick yet. I am having to really dig into the numbers to get one team a point advantage over the other. This is absolutely going to be a game where the players on both sidelines are going to be tested mentally, and once again for the second week in a row it will come down to who will break first. I truly do not envy the coaches in this game. This is one that will keep you up all hours of the night trying to figure out a way to get some kind of advantage for your team.
With that said....Good luck to you both! I can't wait to see this one. And for those of you that just love the game of football and you are looking for a game to go see.....THIS IS IT!

Game of the Week for Saturday 10/18/14 Conclusion;
This weeks "Game of the Week" was exactly what we here at Youth Sports USA thought it was going to be! This one started and ended in a defensive struggle. It was hard hitting and outside of the Blue Raider Panthers breaking a couple of long touchdowns it was pretty much all defense. Now I know some people like to see a ton of points up on the board, and we understand that. We on the other hand, like to see the whole game played well and this one turned out to be exactly that.
To start this game the TCU Wildcats received the opening kick off. They took it up to their 49 yard line and began their first possession there. They ran 3 plays then committed a false start that put them back 5 yards, and after an incomplete pass, they were at 4th and 15 and decided to run a draw play that only got them 1 yard and turned the ball over on downs. The Blue Raider Panthers took over at their own 42 yard line. Before they ran their first play of the game the committed a false start and were backed up 5 yards. So with the ball on their 47 they ran a sweep, and their running back #5 broke 2 tackles as he was headed to the edge and then turned it up field broke another tackle and then plan out ran the rest of the defense as he went in for the touchdown on a 47 yard run! The 2 point conversion was good and they had an 8-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders tried an on side kick but the Wildcats recovered it at the 50 yard line. The Wildcats move the ball with what seemed to be great ease. After getting a 1st down they were flagged for an illegal formation, and that seemed to suck the life out of this drive. On 3rd and 6 they attempted a pass that was intercepted by #6 for the Blue Raiders. Then on the very next play by the Blue Raiders ran the ball again but a bad exchange between the QB and the running back #5 fumbled the ball. Fortunately for the Blue Raiders they recovered the fumble as the 1st quarter came to a close. After 1 it was the Blue Raider panthers 8 and the TCU Wildcats 0.
As the 2nd Quarter began, the Blue Raiders changed their tactics and began to run running back #2. They gave him the ball on the next 4 plays in a row and he had a 7 yard run, 4 yard run, 11 yard run, and a 2 yard run. Then as they hurried up to the line and ran a very fast play, #5 broke it for 30 yards. Then the next 3 plays that TCU Wildcat defense stiffened and forced the Blue Raiders to go for a 4th and 14 from the 20 yard line. The 4th down pass was incomplete, and the Wildcats took over on downs. They had 80 yards to go to try to get a score and get this game back to being tied. The Wildcats began to run the ball pretty well, but the clock was not on their side and they ran out of time as we went to halftime with the score still 8-0.
To start the 2nd half you had the TCU Wildcats try an onside kick to get possession of the ball. The Blue Raiders were ready for it and recovered the on side kick and began the drive at mid-field. The QB #4 ran a QB keeper and ran it for 2 yards. The next play the Blue Raiders went back to running back #5 and jumped out on a 5 yard run, and on 3rd and 3 they went back to #5 who had his 2nd fumble of the day but this time it was recovered by TCU. Then as we stated this was a defensive game and the Blue Raiders only allowed the Wildcats to gain 1 yard on 4 plays and forced TCU to turn the ball over on downs once again.
I think that was truly the deciding factor in this game because when the defense came back out on the field you could tell they were deflated. They had forced a turnover and gave their offense great field position and they watched as the offense just couldn't do anything with it. The Blue Raiders came out running the ball with #20 who broke a 29 yard run, a 5 yard run, and a 6 yard run. Then as before, the Blue Raiders came back to "Just Give It To Me" #5 and he just ran past the defense on his way to the end zone for the second time today. 55 yards later they were on the board with #5's second big run of the day. The 2 point conversion failed and the score was now 14-0.
The Blue Raiders knew that had just taken the wind out of the Wildcats so they tried their 2nd onside kick of the day, but this time #6 for the Blue Raiders was on it and recovered it. Somehow though you just knew that proud TCU Defense wasn't done for the day though and sure enough almost on "Q" they shut the Blue Raiders down and then held on 4th down. On the next series the Wildcats really established themselves pushing the ball down the field, but found themselves faced with a 4th and 1. Then one of the most amazing plays I have seen happened right in front of my eyes. TCU Breaks out with a 42 yard run for a touchdown coming off a 4th and 1. I couldn't believe it. Then I saw a flag down on the ground and even as an unbiased observer I found my heart sinking for these kids, and yep you guessed it "Holding". Touchdown called back and now it's 4th and 11. TCU ran a great pass play and out of no where #23 for the Blue Raiders jumped it and took it back 20 yards to the TCU 40.
The Blue Raiders went into a very slowed down offense and worked the clock as they moved it down to the TCU 20 forcing TCU to use all of their timeouts. Then once they got the next first down, the Blue Raiders went into the "Victory Formation" and took this win home. Final in this one was;
#3 Blue Raider Panthers - 14
#1 TCU Wildcats - 0

Game of the Week for Saturday 10/11/14;
This weeks game of the week is being played in the "Juniors" division of the TAYSA. This one is going to really be a great game. You have the divisions #1 offense taking on the divisions #1 defense. It is going to really be something. It almost reminds me of last years NFL Superbowl! With that being said, we all know how that turned out, and no matter what level you are playing at "Defenses Win Championships". However, you have the number #2 offense taking on the #2 defense in this very game. So, WOW! is all I can say about this one! As Mr. Owens would say, "Better Get Your Pop Corn Ready"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am personally going to be at this game! I just think it is the one to see this week and to be honest there are a lot of bragging rights on the line here. Neither team has really been tested up to this point so it is time to see who wants this one the most!

Game of the Week 10/11/14 Conclusion;
As I had stated about this weeks game of the week, this one was all it was supposed to be. This one started and ended with the feeling of a Championship Game. It really did come down to the very end! I was so impressed with both of these teams and the young men playing. They truly left it all out on the field. If you were at this game you understand exactly what I am talking about.
This one began with the DC Raiders taking the opening kick off down and getting on the board with a touchdown first. The opening play was a 45 yard run by #23. Then a couple of plays later #23 ran it in for a 3 yard Touchdown run. With the missed PAT it was the DC Raiders 6 & the DFW Ravens 0.
On the Ravens first series they had great field position with a 25 yard kick return. But then after a couple of positive plays they had 4 negative plays and turned the ball over on downs. At the end of the 1st Quarter it was the DC Raider leading the DFW Ravens 6-0. The Raiders then ran a couple of plays but the Ravens defense stood strong and then picked off the pass from DC Raiders Quarterback #5. The Ravens then took that momentum and drove the ball down and then #1 of the Ravens ran it in from 18 yards out. With the 2 point play being successful the Ravens took the lead 8-6.
The Raiders then went 3 and out and punted the ball to the Ravens. Then on the first play the Ravens ran, the Raiders made a huge mental mistake and hit the Ravens running back late out of bounds which set up the Ravens with great field position. The Ravens then ran 3 plays and got the ball down to the Raiders 2 yard line, and then on the very next play the Ravens #7 punched it in from 2 yards out. The PAT was missed which made the score then 14-6 Ravens. With the clock winding down in the 1st half the Raiders came out throwing and the last play of the half the Raiders Quarterback threw his 2nd pick of the day.
The Ravens opened the 2nd half with with 3 negative plays and was forced to punt the ball back to the Raiders. Then the Ravens defense showed out and stood strong forcing the Raiders to punt it back to them after 3 plays. The Ravens opened this series with a great run of 35 yards by #10, but after an unsportsmanlike penalty they were really backed up and ended up having to punt the ball away. In my opinion that penalty was the momentum changer because when the Ravens punted the ball and Raiders #23 received the punt he returned it 75 yards for the touchdown. With that the game was now tied 14-14.
After a very good kick return by the Ravens, on their first play of this series the running back fumbled the ball and it was recovered by the Raiders. The Raiders then took the ball down on a 4 play drive with a reverse of 18 yards and a run by #23 of 20 yards to the 3 yard line, and then #23 finished it off with his 3rd touchdown of the day from 1 yard out. The PAT was good bringing the score to 22-14.
On the nest possession, the Ravens start to drive but the Raiders defense turned it up and held on a 4th down. The Raiders then drove it down to the 1 yard line and the Ravens defense forced the fumble and recovered it with 1:52 left on the clock. The ravens move the ball but then a huge negative play puts them back on the 2 yard line and on 4th down the pass was incomplete and with 37.7 seconds left the Raiders took over. With the clock winding down, the Raiders #23 punched it in for his 4th touchdown on the day!!!! The final score in this one was 30-14, but the Raiders were never in total control of this game until they took the ball back with 37.7 seconds left in the game.
